You are all familiar with WD 40 for loosening bolts and stopping squeaky doors, but did you know there are many other useful ways to use WD 40 inside and outside your home? I myself have used it to remove crayons off the walls, but here are some more uses you may not even imagined.
Keep Spiders Away
Do you have a fear of spiders? Then just spray some WD-40 on places where spiders and other insects can get in, such as windowsills and door frames. It will keep the spiders and other bugs out.
Removes Gum From Hair

Don’t have peanut butter? Next time your child gets bubble gum stuck in their hair, spray it with some WD-40 then comb it out and rinse thoroughly. No more gum!
Poop On The Bottom Of Your Shoes!

Have you ever been out and about and stepped on some animal poop? Oh, it’s so messy and hard to clean it from the bottom of your shoes/boots! Yuck! All you have to do is spray some WD-40 on the sole of your shoe and use an old toothbrush to clean the poop out of the crevices. Rinse with cold water and your shoes will be as good as new. Terrific!
Keeping The Squirrels Out Of Your Bird Feeders
It seems to always happen. You fill your birdfeeder, and ready for your winged friends, you look outside, and the squirrels get into it and eat all the seeds. The birds never seem to have a chance. What can you do??? Next time you fill up the feeder, just spray a good coat of WD-40 on top of the feeder and those rodents will slip right off.
Remove Super Glue From Fingers
I have done this so many times. I will be working on a project, and gently squeeze the tube of super glue, and somehow I get some of it onto my fingers. Now they are stuck together. What to do? Spray some WD 40 on the area, and rub your hands together and it will come off!
Help! My Ring Won’t Come Off My Finger!
Sometimes our fingers get swollen and then it is so hard to get your ring off your finger. So if your ring is too tight, just spray a little WD 40 and it will slide right off!
Help, My Zipper Is Stuck!
Do you have a zipper that is stuck? Well no worries, just spray a little WD 40 on the zipper, and move up and down a few times, and it won’t stick anymore!
Remove Those Nasty Scuff Marks
Now this one I have used so many times! Remove the residue left behind by stickers, tape and labels Just spray with WD-40, wait about a minute then wipe the residue away with a cloth.
Remove a Paint Smudge
Oil Spots On Garage Floor
If you have a oil spot on your garage floor or the driveway, all you have to do is give the spot a good coat with the WD 40 and then hose it down. The Spot should disappear once the water dries. I am going to try this myself! You can use sawdust or sand on a fresh spill to soak it up too!
Kill Weeds
Some gardeners will tell you WD-40 works great as a weed killer. Try using it on thistle—which should wither and die, and allow you to then pull it out, root and all, so it doesn’t return to your yard.
Remove Lime Stains in Toilet

Easy and Quick Way to Lube Diverter in Tub
Hard Water. Over time it builds up deposits in our plumbing. When your tub spout diverter clogs, use WD-40 with its spray nozzle curved up the spout to the diverter valve. A couple of sprays gets things loosened up and working again.
Keeps Your Car Locks from Freezing
If an ice storm is in your forecast, spray some WD-40 in the locks of your car. It will prevent water from seeping in and freezing the locks.
Stuck LEGOs
Okay, so some of the legos are stuck so tightly together, you can’t get them free. Just spray a little bit of WD 40 on the pieces and they will come apart easily.
Removes Crayon and Marker from Walls
I have used this many times on my walls to remove my boys ‘art’ from the walls. Just spray on some WD-40 on the wall and then wipe off the crayon or marker with a clean rag. If you have wallpaper, do a quick test first.
Remove Grease

Guys, don’t get grease all over the bathroom sink, spray some WD-40 on your hands as soon as you’re done working on your car. Rub them together and then wipe with a paper towel and follow with some soap and water.
Removes Paint From Leather
So your painting and some paint gets on your leather couch! Oh No! All you have to do is spray the spot with the WD 40 and wipe with a clean cloth. The paint will be gone!
I would love to hear all your ideas on uses with WD 40. Have a Beautiful Day!!!

I use it on so many things…rarely for what it’s supposed to be used for. I need it right now to lub some hinges on doors..I’m glad you liked it!!

How was your getaway? How were the kitties, did they give you attitude when you came home?

We had a great time, and the kitties were taken care of by a friend who always looks after them when we travel, so they are comfortable with her.
