Outdoor Table Weights

It’s Summer, time to get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. Have you ever planned a party, barbecue, picnic and your all set up to eat, and a wind comes and blows the tablecloth away??? Well I had that problem. It seemed like every time I planned something for outside, it would get breezy and blow my tablecloth away. Well, if you have that problem, I have the solution for you!
I love the tablecloth I have on my outdoor table. The problem is….it blows all over the place. I’ve been thinking of different items I could use to weight the table cloth down. I had made some other clips with sewn decorations, but I wanted to give you guys that don’t sew, another idea, that is fast and easy.
I wanted something that I could remove also, if I have to wash it . I have perhaps too many bins of ‘stuff’. I found some curtain clips. Now I just have to figure out what to add to them for weight.

I decided I wanted sparkle! Of course. So I painted the clips with Rustoleum Metallic Spray Paint.

I decided to go with the marbled vase fillers. You can buy them at the dollar store!  They have weight and would look pretty with the silver. I used ‘Goop’ to glue them inside the ring. I glued them in,one at a time Tip: Sometimes it’s hard to put the cap back on the glue. I put a bolt in the end instead of the cap. It keeps the glue inside, doesn’t leak, and I don’t have to fuss with the cap.

3 of them fit in perfectly! I let dry overnight….In the morning, this is how it looks! Love it! And it keeps the tablecloth where it belongs!
I have just finished installing the pavers patio, so those pics are next.

Notice the pavers…..I did that!! So proud of myself  🤗

I placed them where the tablecloth lines up with the legs, so it doesn’t bother anyone sitting down.
I just wanted to add….what a nice feeling it was this morning to go outside to feed the birds and not have to hassle straightening out the tablecloth. It worked perfect. You can always add shells if your going for the beach theme.

Some of you mentioned you had very strong winds. This made me think…If you want even more weight, add more marbles (vase fillers) In the picture above you can see there is room for more. So I added three more….see below..

It even looks nicer hanging with 6 inside. I suppose you could even glue them around the outside of circle….that just may look pretty too!

Now when your at a picnic, barbecue,  doing outdoor entertaining, you don’t have to worry about a gust of wind blowing it off and making a mess!!!
What do you think?

    1. This is what I usually do…spur of the moment, look at what I have in bins. Then… what can I do with these🤔. I wasn’t using the clips, and I already had the glass fillers, so it didn’t cost anything. Nothing worse than your table all set up, and the wind blows it all away ;(

    1. Thank you thank you! I will never forget the pavers. A friend was moving and gave me all those pavers. It was midsummer, 110 degrees and I was shoveling out the rock to make way for the pavers.I am so pleased at the way they turned out. So, I built a pergola to go over it. Thank you for noticing!

    1. A friend was moving and he sold me all those pavers for $100. Which was a great price…just loading and unloading. It’s another ‘first time’ doing something…I love how it turned out! I made the mistake of laying the pavers in the summer. 115 degree heat and above. I had a dream….I wanted a pergola…so laying the pavers was the first step. The Pergola….that was hard…I had to get a neighbor to help hoist up the top beams. When it was all done, I was so proud of myself.🤗❤️️

  1. What a great idea! We have an annual paella party, so I am going to put little shells inside to go with the decor. Thanks so much for sharing.
