Beautiful Baby Shower Mobile

I came up with this idea a couple of years ago when I gave a baby shower for a mom to be. I was ‘in charge’ of the wrapping and ribbons. I wanted to make something that would use the ribbons and wrapping paper creating a wonderful memento for the mom and her baby girl.

This is such a sweet way to repurpose the gift paper and ribbon as a sweet memento from your baby shower. I made this from a friends baby shower ribbon and wrapping paper.

All you need for this project is 2 Embroidery hoops of different sizes… Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch,(or a punch you like), plastic string, ribbon and paper from baby shower.

I first took the blue and pink ribbon from baby shower and cut them into 6″ strips.

I tied them around the 2 embroidery hoops. I then took 3 long ribbons to make as hanger and tied them on the bigger hoop. Then I took 3 smaller ribbons and tied from top larger hoop to smaller hoop. I let the smaller hoop hang about 4-5″ below top hoop.

You have to judge how long you want your mobile, and how high your ceiling is. Tie them onto the first larger hoop. Then cut 3 of the same thinner ribbon into 8″ lengths. these will tie onto larger hoop to smaller hoop with about a 4″ drop. This will create the two different levels

I cut out lots and lots of butterflies...Love this punch! After all butterflies were cut out, I hot glued a butterfly on each side of string and held a second then continued this all the way down. After cutting out dozens of butterflies with 4 different scrapbook pages, it was time to put them on. I then took the illusion cord and put a large clip on the end to keep strand in place. Then I took one butterfly, and put the illusion cord on, then a drop of hot glue, then another butterfly on top

When the first strand was done, we tied it onto the hoop. For the larger hoop we put about 12 sets of butterflies and one set of mirrors on the end to keep the strand taut. The smaller hoop we put 8 sets of butterflies and one set of mirrors.

After we tied them all on....we were done. The mobile looks beautiful!
