Trash to Treasure

Bar Stool Makeover

If you follow me, then you saw a computer chair that I made over. Well, I decided to makeover  the bar stools in the same material. A really nice friend was moving, and he gave them to me…thank you David!

This is what they looked like:

Well these have been sitting in my garage for a year…it’s about time I do something with them. I started by painting the legs with a chalk paint in a off white. I did 2 coats. Then applied a wax. I removed the vinyl and padding.  I added foam that I cut into circles (a little bit bigger then the seat.) I added material, stretched and stapled to bottom of seat. Looks so much better I think.

What a update…love the material on the cushion…whatcha think?

    1. Tear off the old material…it should be stapled on the bottom. Take out the foam if it’s not in good shape or worn out. You can purchase the foam at Walmart, anywhere they sell fabric too. If your barstools are like mine…I only used 1/4 yrd of fabric on each stool.
