Easy Valentines Day Craft

This is a very easy and inexpensive Valentine’s craft,  and makes a pretty decoration for Valentines Day!

Head down to your local Dollar Tree and pick up all you will need for this project.

  • small glass votive candle holder
  • mod podge
  • red glitter
  • red permanent marker
  • taper candle holder

You can find all at the store except the mod podge.

First you will need a small glass votive candle holder. I picked up this one at a dollar store.DSCN4321.JPG

It’s just a small square glass votive holder. You can find at a dollar store.

I started by taking a red marker and making half a heart on the bottom of the left front side.

Just like that….then you take Modpodge or white glue…and cover the inside of the heart and along the red outline. You don’t have to be exact…

Then you sprinkle red glitter on it!

Then I thought since it’s Valentines Day…the heart is bursting with love…(call me silly okay). So what I did was take a toothpick…or anything small point…and put glue in little spots coming from the heart….this is what I did…

I added more glitter… then I took a candle holder…from the dollar store…and put hot glue around the top…dscn4332

Then I put the heart candle holder I just made up on top…

From here you can do anything….fill with those heart candies and with a candle…

You can dress up the bottom with red rhinestones…from dollar store…

Or you can put the mod podge on the candle and sprinkle with red glitter and add those clear glass fillers you can get at dollar store….love that dollar store!!!!

To keep the glitter in it’s place…you can mod podge over the heart.

So that is my little project for today! Back to work on my project! Thank you so very much everyone that is reading my blog!!!

    1. First, how fun to do with the little ones, even if they are older. Kids love this because it is so easy. Thank you for the heads up at the dollar store.🤗🙂

      1. Hi Alicia! You can do: https://kelleysdiy.com/2018/02/03/valentines-burlap-heart/ or this:
First without taking the hanger apart, stretch it into a circle, like a wreath. You could spray paint the hanger in a red or white if you want. Unwrap the hanger at the top, take your burlap ribbon and at the open end (without the loop at top) start inserting your burlap by pushing the wire through the center of the burlap. Keep doing this with all the burlap. Put the hanger back together again at the top where you first took it apart at the top. You will end up with a burlap wreath. Now, you can make a small Valentines banner, something like this: https://kelleysdiy.com/2018/02/03/valentines-banner/ but in a much smaller version. You can hang the banner side to side in center of your wreath. At the top by the hanger you can put artificial red roses. Or you could make paper hearts in red and pink and write little 2 word love notes on them. Then glue them onto the burlap.
        Do you like those ideas?

  1. Thanks for sharing! I am not a huge fan of glitter, but I will be using this same concept with an oil based marker and just filling in the heart solid with the marker. I will have to find a glass that can be baked tho to allow the marker to set. I hope you have a wonderful Valentine’s Day 🙂
