  • Did you know that if a Duracell battery leaks, and destroys one of your devices, the company will replace the device if it is sent to them with the defective batteries still in place.
  • If you work in customer service, put a mirror behind you. Customers will be nicer because no one wants to see themselves being a jerk.
  • When taking notes in class, always leave a few pages in the front for a table of contents This will make it 100 times easier at the end of the year to study from once you have a full notebook.
  •  In a public bathroom the stall which is the closest to the door is usually the cleanest because it’s the least used.

  1. These are cool, but what if I read some languages that are left to right, and some that are right to left (I am serious – this is not a joke!)? Do I have to scan up and down? I have a Japanese friend who, in addition to English (left to right) and Hebrew (right to left), reads Japanese, vertically. What about her?
    BTW, I can explain why things written in blue ink are memorized faster than those written in black. Ditto for the last two points. It’s the way our brain functions.

    2. and the blue ink I think is true. People usually always write with black..so the blue you would remember because it stands out. And I think your just trying to give me a hard time today! 😦

      1. Well, then red would stand out even more, but you’d remember it even less, trust me. No, it’s because contrasting colors shock our visual processing, while soft, calming colors flow right in, so to speak. Of course I am trying to give you a hard time; if you don’t go ribbing your friends, who else would you do it to?

      1. The public bathroom tip is #1! Healing paper cuts with chapstick, cutting out processed foods (it’ll be harder than I think!), splitting a venti Starbucks coffee and blowing on my thumb when I get nervous! That one should REALLY be interesting!

  2. I love little nuggets like this Linda!! The one about eating fast – it’s because it takes the brain 20 minutes to let your body know it’s full so if you eat too fast you are probably over eating! 😀
