Outdoor Tablecloth Weights Updated

This first picture is part of a set I made of ocean life tablecloth weights.

Now for what this post is about:

It gets pretty windy here! I love the tablecloth I have on the outdoor table. The problem is….it blows all over the place. I’ve been thinking of different items I could use to weight the table cloth down. I wanted something that I could remove also, if I have to wash it . I have perhaps too many bins of ‘stuff’. I found some curtain clips. Now I just have to figure out what to add to them for weight. These are some of the options I had:

I decided I wanted sparkle! Of course. So I painted the clips with Rustoleum Metallic Spray Paint.outdoor-table-cloth-weights-crafts-outdoor-furniture-outdoor-living (1)

I decided to go with the marbled vase fillers. They have weight and would look pretty with the silver. I used ‘Goop’ to glue them inside the ring. I glued them in,one at a time Tip: Sometimes it’s hard to put the cap back on the glue. I put a bolt in the end instead of the cap. It keeps the glue inside, doesn’t leak, and I don’t have to fuss with the cap.

3 of them fit in perfectly! I let dry overnight….In the morning, this is how it looks! Love it! And it keeps the tablecloth where it belongs!

I placed them where the tablecloth lines up with the legs, so it doesn’t bother anyone sitting down.
I just wanted to add….what a nice feeling it was this morning to go outside to feed the birds and not have to hassle straightening out the tablecloth. It worked perfect.

Some of you mentioned you had very strong winds. This made me think…If you want even more weight, add more marbles (vase fillers) In the picture above you can see there is room for more. So I added three more….see below..

It even looks nicer hanging with 6 inside. I suppose you could even glue them around the outside of circle….that just may look pretty!

      1. Dori! So fun, sparkly too… I literally just told my husband this weekend as we were doing the spring cleaning in the yard that I was going to make those table cloth weights with the marbles, as I was explaining the curtain holders he said, “Your husband probably has some.” Now for the marbles! YAY! ~Kim
